Beginners welcome! Most of our classes are appropriate for beginners, but we also offer more challenging projects for those who are ready to move ahead! These heart codes will help you decide which classes are right for you!
Beginner: No experience required
Intermediate: Some bead weaving experience
Advanced: Experienced bead weavers
Class size is limited. Payment is required at sign-up to guarantee a space in the class. Many classes fill quickly so sign up early! No refunds. Most classes have a supply list, so please make sure you have the necessary materials prior to the start of your class. Unless a kit is included with a class, the class price does not include materials or supplies. Discounts do not apply to class kits.
Friend special: Take a scheduled class with a friend (or more) and you each get $5 off the class price!
Saturday special: A great idea for "out-of-towners"!
Take back-to-back classes on one Saturday and get $5 off each class and a $5 in-store credit!

The Bead Cage offers a wide variety of classes for every skill level. We work very hard to bring you new and exciting projects each month.
We are proud to say that our instructors teach their own designs. Some are nationally recognized artists who spend lots of time dreaming up new designs that are unique to our shop!
Some of our classes fill fast, so it's best to sign up early. Often we keep a waiting list and add another date, so check the store or our home page for updates on added classes.
BUTTON! BUTTON!
You got the button! Never again hunt through your button box for the perfect button... make one of your own to match your beaded piece! Three different styles will be covered in this class.
DIAMOND DIVA
Welcome Spring with this delicate bracelet of 4mm crystals with a floral flair. Use one or several colors of crystals to give this airy bracelet a variety of looks.
BYZANTINE ROSETTE BRACELET
This class will teach you how to make a flower out of jump rings while learning how to make to make the Byzantine chain maille. Kits available on request.
WISTERIA NECKLACE
This delicate necklace was inspired by the beautiful Wisteria blooms, but can be made in any color that will complement your wardrobe.
CLEO’S NECKRING
Do you LOVE bugles but uncertain of their durability? Let me share my love of them with you and the design is sure to please!
RUSTIC ROUNDS NECKLACE
Using large round beads as a focal, weave them between your favorite cubes or triangles. Add some bits of metal and delicas, and the result is an arty mix with a rustic feel.
RHAPSODY NECKLACE
Back by popular demand, this stunning crystal necklace with a pendant will gather in the compliments and make you feel “Oh, so pretty”. Go for subtle, or sizzling, with your choice of Swarovskis!
PUFFY HEART PENDANT
Learn to make a unique puffy heart pendant in your favorite crystal color. Perfect for gift giving all year round.
FLORAL ELEGANCE NECKLACE
Create a beautiful necklace (or bracelet) using tubular netting, seed beads, needle and thread. It may look complex, but you will be surprised at how easy it is to make!
BASICS: DOUBLE ROW RAW (Right Angle Weave)
Using color and bead shape as a guide, learn how to get the hang of basic right angle weave as well as learning to add a second row.
MS. FRANKENSTEIN CUFF WORKSHOP WITH LUNCH!
Transform those rejects! If you have any partly-made projects that you know you won’t finish, but haven’t taken them apart yet... resurrect them! Bring your bits and pieces of starts and stops, or even whole bracelets that you want to recycle (they can be any size). You will get one-on-one help on how to put them together to make a whole new FREEFORM CREATION! Knowledge of basic stitches is a must (peyote, herringbone, raw, square stitch). Lunch included in class fee.
HAIR AFFAIR: MINI CLASS
Love the new beaded bobbypins and combs? This class is for you! These are fun to make and are perfect for those cute summer updos. Includes comb and bobby pins.
JEWELS COLLAR
While the class sample beads are truly one of a kind, you can bring your own secret stash to create your own lovely, coveted piece.
CRYSTAL SPIRAL ROPE
Simple and versatile, the spiral rope chain can be made using many different combinations of beads. This class combines the classic spiral rope using seed beads with sparkling Swarovski crystals for dazzling results.
CUBICADO BRACELET
Use cubes and seed beads to create this sculptural beauty of a bracelet.
CUT IT OUT CUFF
Learn how to cut and file sheet metal, and do basic riveting with eyelets while making this cute and unique metal cuff bracelet. The cost of the class includes all materials and a $25 deposit is required at the time of sign up.
KUMIHIMO – BASIC ROUND BRAID
Learn this ancient art of Japanese braiding while creating a basic round braid using a Kumihimo disk and satin cord. Wear it alone or as a perfect showcase for that special focal bead.
SASSAFRASS BRACELET
Cute, sassy and filled with those li’l elusive swarovski rounds!
CROWN JEWELS BRACELET
Learn to make rivoli components that will link together to make a truly dramatic statement!
MINI ON A CURVE BRACELET
Create your own piece of pirate’s treasure using 3mm Swarovski crystals and pearls in an attractive wave pattern. This dainty little number is sure to inspire “oohs!” and “aahs!”
BASICS: TUBULAR PEYOTE
Round and round we go… where we stop no one knows...a great no clasp bracelet!
BRANCH FRINGE PENDANT
Dig out that special lampwork or focal bead and get ready to showcase it with luxurious lengths of branch fringe. If you don’t have a focal, the Miami Valley Lampworkers will be at the Bead Cage on Sunday April 25!
LOOPY BRACELET
Surround a focal bead with graduated loops of seed beads in this fun and frilly bracelet.
SHAPED FUSION BRACELET
Learn the technique of fusing fine silver wire and then make fun shapes out of the fused wire. You will also learn to decorate these rings by using a chasing hammer and other tools that you have lying around the house. The cost of the class includes all materials and a $25 deposit is required at the time of sign up.
CRYSTAL CORDUROY BRACELET
The look, the feel... bring your favorite round or tablet lampwork bead. Add this beauty to your collection.

VINTAGE ROUNDS PENDANT
Make your own beaded beads that connect to make a cross pendant, or make a bracelet using the same technique! You will also learn to make the beaded bead into a button.
LOOP, TWIST, AND CHAIN IT BRACELET
Learn how to make a shaggy loop chain maille bracelet with a just a bit of a twist added to it. Then add an assortment of chain to make it a really unique bracelet to wear.
KUMIHIMO WITH SEED BEADS
Add seed beads to the basic Kumihimo round braid and the result is this beautiful beaded cord. This technique provides similar results as bead crochet, but in half the time. Some experience with Kumihimo required.
MULTI STRAND TREASURES: SCULPTURAL STRINGING
This design is great for using leftover beads, or creating a special showcase for some of that special glass in your stash! Learn to embellish a basic bead strand to make it a little work of art!
WILMA BRACELET
Li’l bit of netting and a li’l stringing make this a mix of fun. Beaded bead buttons make a beautiful end to this fun design.
